From Jeff Vandermeer’s Ecstatic Days:

“We need more writers who are willing to be honest. We don’t need more politicians.”

To my embarrassment, I’ve only read City of Saints and Madmen (which I loved and highly recommend to those so inclined). I do, however, have a couple other Vandermeer books on the shelves that I will be reading soon (along with plans to buy more).

Few things strike me as sadder than the vast number of books I’ll never get to read, or write. . . .
